Guardrail retrofit to protect motorcyclists explored in Roadway Safety
Magazine’s Fall issue also examines status of speed safety cameras for work zones
Concerned with the high percentage of motorcyclist fatalities involving guardrails, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) spent five years studying the issue and then seeking solutions.
What they and researchers at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute came up with was a guardrail retrofit.
