ATSS Foundation helps Tennessee college student fight for his future

One month after graduating high school, Christopher Gordon Hutt II was diagnosed with Stage IV Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, leaving him home to deal with chemotherapy while his friends headed off to college.

But today, Chris is doing well and finished his second year of college at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Financially, he was helped by a Roadway Worker Memorial Scholarship from the American Traffic Safety Services (ATSS) Foundation, the same help received by his two older sisters for their college degrees.

The three siblings were eligible for the competitive scholarship because of the loss of their father in a work zone crash that happened months before Chris’ birth.
