Gain advocacy, chapter insights in Winter issue of Roadway Safety

Roadway Safety magazine kicks off 2025 with a close-up look at federal advocacy, examines the benefits of collaboration through Texas ATSSA Chapter activities and details conclusions of a new study on pavement markings.

Tim Lang of Impact Recovery was reluctant to take part in ATSSA’s annual Legislative Briefing & Fly-In until his first experience. Now he’s hooked on the benefits of advocacy and committed to the event. Hear directly from Lang in this video.

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Policy & Standards Branch Manager Rafael Riojas is an advocate of another kind. He’s a member of the Texas ATSSA Chapter (TX-ATSSA) and takes advantage of every opportunity to interact with roadway safety professionals in his ongoing efforts to advance roadway safety in his state and department. A smart work zone roundtable last summer exemplified that approach.

The importance of precisely applied roadway markings in realizing the safety benefits of vehicle technology is explored through a study conducted in Minnesota. Check out the report’s conclusions.
