ATSSA, ATSS Foundation help spur work zone education for teen drivers

Teen drivers are gaining confidence as states require training for navigating work zones.

High school student Janessa Lingenfelter was so nervous the first time she drove through a work zone, her knuckles turned white as she clutched the steering wheel.

But after taking one of the new driver’s education courses taking hold across the country that teach about safely navigating work zones, she gained confidence.

ATSSA and the ATSS Foundation are helping spread the word about the value of such courses to legislators in states across the country and progress is being made, as reported in an article in the latest issue of Roadway Safety.
