The Foundation went full throttle during the Midyear fundraiser at the Harley-Davidson Museum, thanks to title sponsor Arizona ATSSA Chapter and host Wisconsin ATSSA Chapter. The Foundation unveiled a video message from Taylor Lingafelter, a Roadway Worker Memorial Scholarship recipient in 2024 and 2025 who never met her father, but is working hard toward a medical science degree and received one of the Chuck Bailey Memorial Scholarships for volunteerism in 2024. The event raised over $35,000 thanks to the support of 310 attendees, 39 sponsors and donated silent auction items.

The award-winning children’s Work Zone Educational Activity Book was downloaded and distributed 8,318 times plus 2,422 copies of printed books were purchased, reaching a total of 10,740 children interested in learning the importance of safety in work zones. Starting safety education early is a great way to continue those concepts through the early driving years.

This year, as of Oct. 31, 4,601 teens completed the National Work Zone Safe Teen Driver course. Of those who successfully completed the course, we awarded seven $500 Foundation-sponsored scholarships in 2025. After taking the teen driver safety course, scholarship recipient Sadie Shoemaker said, “I’ve realized that work zones, while often inconvenient, represent someone’s livelihood. Each worker there has the same goal as we do—to make it home safely. That’s why it’s crucial for all of us to follow driving safety laws: wear seat belts, obey speed limits and stay alert. Doing so helps keep everyone safe. This awareness has made me a more cautious and responsible driver.”

We are thrilled to announce that our organization has been awarded grant funding from these generous funders:

The ATSS Foundation's year-end giving campaign began with a strong start on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 2, when we received donations totaling $30,025. This incredible kickoff included $7,525 from 42 donors plus generous matching donations from ATSS Foundation Board Member Margaret "Peggy" McGrath and Pat Terrio ($10,000), Arizona ATSSA Chapter ($7,500) and Horizon Signal Technologies ($5,000). This momentum sets the stage for our year-end fundraising efforts and it’s not too late to join in. Every gift helps us continue supporting roadway safety programs. Thank you to our generous donors and partners.

The Heart of America ATSSA Chapter held their annual fall event, a Golf Tournament and Fishing Event on Oct. 14, and raised $2,100 in support of the Foundation and our programs.
In conjunction with the APC Conference, held Nov. 19-21 at the Hershey Lodge, the Pennsylvania ATSSA Chapter helped to bring the Foundation's National Work Zone Memorial onsite for display and did some fundraising during the event. The Virginia ATSSA Chapter was onsite in Richmond for the VAA's Mid-Atlantic Asphalt Expo & Safety Summit, held Dec. 2-4, where the Memorial was also displayed. ATSSA member company Mullen's Markings sponsored the traveling tribute for the Virginia event.
Fundraisers and support like these chapter or company-sponsored ones equal big impact for our charitable programs.
